DMALL Dmall "Digital Technology and Application for the Commodity Circulation Business of Physical Retail" (hereinafter referred to as the "project") won the Second Prize of the Beijing Science and Technology Progress Award, becoming the only retail SaaS enterprise to win the award.

Four Core Hard Technologies Help Improve the Efficiency and Experience of the Retail Industry

This award-winning project, through the research and development of technologies such as commodity management decision-making, display, store operations, and emergency fulfillment, evolves the ERP in the IT era into the business SaaS in the DT era, comprehensively improving the efficiency of commodity circulation and the user experience.

Among them, the commodity management decision-making technology combines the research and integration of technologies such as machine learning, data mining, and operational optimization, and combines the information data collected from the entire link of commodity sales data, category data, and commodity circulation to provide decision support for the operational management of commodity inventory control, expiration date management, and online traceability; the intelligent commodity display technology uses multiple technologies such as image recognition and automatic mapping to realize the online, systematic, and intelligent process of the entire commodity display process, getting rid of the inertial thinking of relying on experience for display, improving the work efficiency of store shelf displays, and improving the rationality and scientificity of retailers' commodity displays; the software and hardware integrated store operation technology integrates multiple technologies such as gravity sensing, energy consumption adjustment, image processing, and the Internet of Things through the combination of software and hardware to realize the personalization, low-carbonization, automation, and intelligence of the user's offline shopping process and store management and operation process, while improving the user's shopping efficiency and experience, it also improves the store operation management efficiency and saves energy; the intelligent emergency fulfillment technology flexibly adjusts the upstream and downstream commodity deployment of the distribution system through the intelligent distribution network reconstruction technology, creating emergency fulfillment capabilities such as rapid centralized purchasing at the source, centralized supply in the region, and saturated delivery. Based on big data analysis and artificial intelligence algorithm technology, it realizes the automatic planning of the entire operation process of the picking and distribution personnel. This technology has effectively supported the local physical retailers' anti-epidemic and supply protection actions in Beijing, Hubei and other places.

This project has obtained a total of 157 related patents and software copyrights, and published 47 related papers. This project leads the technological transformation of the traditional physical retail business, enhances China's scientific and technological influence in the global retail industry, promotes the digital transformation and upgrading of the physical retail industry, and improves the social information transparency and people's livelihood and well-being. It has made outstanding contributions, especially in stabilizing prices and ensuring supply during the epidemic, and has made an important contribution to the construction of the smart city in the capital, the international consumption center city, and the global digital economy benchmark city.

Digital Transformation Becomes a Necessity for the Global Retail Industry

The "14th Five-Year Plan for Digital Economy Development" points out that with the in-depth development of the new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation, digital transformation has become a general trend. Affected by its own characteristics, the digitalization degree of the physical retail industry is relatively low, and its decision-making process highly relies on past experience, often making it difficult to accurately understand customer needs and timely adjust operational decisions. It is insufficient in handling complicated affairs and effectively responding to the impact of the epidemic, resulting in low efficiency and poor user experience, and there is an urgent need to carry out in-depth digital transformation.

Since its establishment in 2015, DMALL Dmall has continuously explored the digital transformation of the retail industry. Through core systems such as the retail core service cloud, e-commerce service cloud, and marketing and advertising service cloud, it provides a one-stop end-to-end digital retail solution for the retail industry, significantly enhancing the operational, marketing and sales capabilities of retailers and brand merchants, helping them better serve end consumers. Among them, the retail core service cloud solution is based on the Dmall OS system software and the intelligent Internet of Things (AloT) solution, providing data insights throughout the entire retail operation process and providing practical improvement measures. DMALL Dmall has achieved a synergy effect among the three clouds, providing retailers with a convenient one-stop solution.
